"As a growing, grassroots organization, it can be difficult to find support for capacity building initiatives. The Devonshire Foundation support has been game-changing for us! Their belief in our mission has truly helped propel our work forward!"

-David Cohen, Doc Wayne

The Funding Process

The Devonshire Foundation does not currently accept unsolicited proposals. We rely on our robust network of partners in the nonprofit sector to help us identify organizations that meet our mission and are poised to implement a plan for growth.

We look at a range of criteria when evaluating an organization’s readiness for our funding. These include:

  • relevance to our mission
  • size and readiness for growth
  • demonstrated, measurable impact; and
  • openness to collaborate and engage at a deep level

Grantee Size

Most of our grantees have annual organizational (or program) budgets of between $500,000 and $4,000,000. Because our multi-year grants come to an end, we aim to represent no more than 10% of a grantee partner’s budget.

Readiness for Growth

The majority of our grantees:

  • are at least two years old
  • have a full-time, paid Executive Director
  • have identified metrics to track both outcomes and impact
  • have completed a strategic plan or have developed a multi-year path for growth

How to Apply

The Devonshire Foundation does not currently accept unsolicited proposals.

While our robust network of partners in the nonprofit sector allows us to identify prospects for our funding, we recognize that we occasionally miss some organizations that meet our mission and are poised to implement a plan for growth. If you’d like to connect with us, please contact us with 1-2 paragraphs about your organization and its potential for growth.
